JG M4 Zombie Killer

ZOMBIES!!!! That's right in this blog we will be going over the JG Zombie Killer M4. We picked this gun up from our friends over at Airsplat.com they have them for $199.99.

OK so the first things first, this thing looks great! It has tons of detail and trades that make the gun look amazing. From the Zombie Killer logo, to the "Punisher" style skull and it even has a bible verse on it. Luke 9:1 is typically not something you would expect to be on the side of a gun. However it is very fitting as it is the "Zombie Killer" edition. For those that don't know there bible verses her it is. Luke 9:1 "Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases." This adds a nice flair that you wouldn't get on a standard M4.

Other nice features of this gun include a full quad rail with front and rear flip up sights. The gun also boasts ambidextrous mag release as well as an ambidextrous functioning bolt release. The upper receiver also has ambidextrous quick release sling points, along with a crane stock which is where the battery gets installed. Now this is a full metal upper and lower receiver. It comes with a 300 round M4 mag and will accept most TM based magazines. The gun comes with a 9.6 "nun chuck" style battery and a charger with small Tamyia connectors.

After charging the battery for 8 hours we installed it and ran a mag through the gun to see how it performs. and we were very impressed. The gun was amazingly accurate right out of the box. We set up the range at 50 feet with a target to see how accurate it was and needless to say the grouping was great. After the accuracy test we set up the Chrono to test both the FPS and the ROF.

The FPS came in at an average of 394 with .20g airsplat BB's needless to say this is not an indoor CQB safe gun. Great for outdoor games, but you wont be able to pass FPS check for a CQB Field like TAC CITY in El Monte. Now this gun has a great ROF for a stock out of the box gun running a 9.6. After running a full mag in 5 second bursts we were able to get 14.2 rounds per second (rps). Over all this is a great performing gun extremely solid and durable. It exceeded all my expectations. This would be a great gun to take into an OP as long as you could pass FPS check.

Overall I will be giving this gun 7.5 out of 10. Totally worth your arsenal. This is one of those guns you cant go wrong with. it has allot of the tactical parts you really want for your gun. And it has the performance you really want out of a stock gun. My only draw back on the gun was the FPS as I love playing in the CQB environment. For the Guru Crew this is Dean Donavan saying Play hard..... Play safe and always remember AIRSOFT IS NOT A CRIME!

APS Cabine Kit. Basic build and review.

In this blog we will be taking you through the APS Carbine Kit that is used to convert most Glock Airsoft replicas to a rifle style weapon. First thing is first the kit comes packaged very nicely and it comes with a full color instruction manual. The first thing we noticed about the kit is it has a solid polymer construction. The other nice thing about this kit is its a drop in kit. This does not require disasembly of the base gun, that is a big thing! As the main competition for this kit is the MAGPUL FPG. Dont get me wrong the FPG has its own apeal. But i personally do not want to but the FPG kit for $229.99 and then buy the KAW KSC G18C for $199.99 totaling $429.98. Thats allot of money to make one gun. Now I know you can buy the pre made one for $295.99 that in its self is not too bad. But I like the idea of using the pistol and then quickly switch to the Rifle set up in minutes. And then back with out any major effort.

This kit is designed to work with the full frame Glocks like the KWA KSC G17, G18c as well as the WE G17. Now dont get me wrong, I am sure that there are other Glocks out there that work with it. Such as the KWC or the HFC. However I am not sold on the quality of either of those models. Now we are going to be assemblying this model with the WE G17. As it is the newest model on the market. Amd i personally like the WE brand. As you can probably see from my reviews both here on my blog and on my youtube chanel. Be sure to check it out https://www.youtube.com/user/airsoftgooroo Any way while we were messing around with the APS we found out that the KJW G23 compact pistol will also fit in the APS unit. That is great as it will make it so more people will be able to use it.

So here we go the first thing we want to show you is the parts that come with the kit. You get the basic body assembly, it will come with the vertical fore grip as well as 3 charging handles that will allow you to use multiple Glock pistols. There is one for the "Airsoft 18" one for the "Airsoft 17" and the "RAM Combat" We did find out that the WE G17 is a little wider that the KWA KSC G17 and when you asseble the APS with the G17 charging handle the guns slide may jam up just a little bit when using and that is a bad thing. The last thing you want is for your weapon to bind up on you in mid game... When we took the kit apart and try to find why it was binding up we noticed that the charging handle was visibly bowing making the charging handle bind in the body of the APS. Now when we saw that we were ready to say ok this wont work. But for some reason i was tinkering around with the "Arsoft 18" charging handle and I noticed that the charging handle was not bowing at all.

So we assembled it with the "Airsoft 18" charging handle and the gun did not bind! That was a great thing to find. We loaded it up and the gun performed great. A full mag with no issue, now in all honesty we wont get a true change in performance as it is just a body kit. But it gives you more of a tactical feel to the gun. We decided to try it with the KJW G23 as well and the same result both with the charging handle and the performance of the gun.  Now we will walk you through the assembly of the kit.

First thing is first take the kit out of the box. HAHA! yeah obvious right ... but in all seriousness

1. Locate the body pins on the front and rear of the body kit.

2. Remove the body pins, these body pins push out from the reverse side of the body. The body pins may be stiff , and you may want to use a tool to push the pin through.

3 Pull the front end off the body kit.

4. Extend the stock and slide the rear body lock out.

5. Unfold the body kit.

6.Now take the G17 G18 or G23 and add the Charging handle to the gun.

7. Place the gun in the body kit.

8. Close the body kit, be sure it is fully closed.

9. slide the rear body lock into place

10.  Replace the front of the body kit & install body pin

now load your gun and have fun.

Some of the guns have the ability to accept an extended mag like this.

Now at this point we decided to have a little fun with the kit and we put the KJW G23 in it, and added as many rail accesories as we could to it. such as a long distance scope, tactical light, 1x30 red dot and a side mounted verticle grip. We did this to show you that you can literaly do almost anything with this gun. And you can add whatever you want to it. I do not recomend doing this at all. But we did it just to laugh, and laugh we did. We also took some tacticool poses with one of the guys off my team. We hope you enjoy them.

Well as far as this kit is concerned we give it a 9 start rating, Thanks for reading this review.

D-Boys M4 RIS (Overide) custom build

This is our second build. This time we started with the Boyi D-Boys M4 RIS Airsoft Gun RIS Metal that we got from the scrap yard at Airsplat.com be sure to check it out you can find some great project guns on there if you have the patience to build them. So when we got this one it was pretty much bare bones it had a gearbox and the body, but no motor. And it was missing some of the Acc. that usually comes with an a9irsoft gun. So the first thing we did was have the master techs at airsplat check the gearbox and be sure there were no surprises with it.  Thankfully the guys were able to re shim and grease up the gearbox for us so we didn't have to do it. the spring was fairly soft so we had them swap it to a M120 to get us some real thump in the gun.

So we got the gun back to the shop and started to figure out what we were going to do with it, and it hit us, we decided to re do all the furniture and make it a real looker as well as a performer. Se we started by gathering all the parts we wanted for the gun. We went and got all the MAGPUL stuff we could find, thankfully its not too expensive. We went with the MOE pistol grip, the MOE fore grip, a P-mag, Mag puller, AFG, and the PTS CTR stock. All of it in Dark Earth except for the AFG we had to go with black on that and we grabbed some rail pieces as well as a tactical flash light.

So now there was nothing to do but dig in and get started. So we started with the pistol grip, if you have never done one before they are pretty easy. All you need to do is take off the motor plate, pull the motor and remove the 2 Phillips screws in the base of the grip. But with this one missing the motor and adjustment plate all we had to do was remove the grip and put the other in its place. Then we had to install the motor, another very easy install for the motor we went with a JG Long type motor. I know why didn't we go with a systema or something like that? Well in all honesty JG makes a good motor they have great torque and I didn't want to re wire the gun or put new gears in to handle the systema motor. So with the motor in all we had to do was connect the motor and install the adjustment plate.

Now I went on to something quick and easy swapping out the stock. We didn't care for the crane stock that was on this gun. All though it is not what should have come with the gun but since we were swapping it out that didn't matter. After we installed the stock it was time to work on the front hand guard. So I cleared the work area of everything but the new front hand guard pieces. Now the we put the rails on the new MAGPUL MOE hand guard first as we would not be able to do it once it was on the gun. Easy installation 4 screws and they are there. Now I put the AFG on the hand guard as well as the tactical light.  So now I needed to install it on the gun, so I pull the full RIS system off the gun starting with the bottom part of the rail. And be careful this gun has a metal "mock" head shield inside the hand guard that is kind of sharp. now you can see the gun with out any hand guard on it.

When you install the new hand guard you want to start with the top part first. put the front in first and pull the "D" ring back and slide the piece into place, then repeat with the lower hand guard. now the gun is basically done, then I noticed that ugly carry handle and i knew that had to go so I grabbed an Iron sight that we had in our parts box. But it just wasn't enough.... So I grabbed a cheap little quick red dot sight and put that on as well. and to finish the gun up I put int the P Mag with the mag puller and there you have it the Override M4. I will get a full tech report on this build with full FPS ratings up soon.

As always if you have any comment please leave them if you have a questions about this build or any others please email me The Airsoft GuRu

I also want to thank the wonderful team at Airsplat for all of there help and continued support for the airsoft community.
